Title: At A Seaside Town In 1869 Author: Thomas Hardy [More Titles by Hardy] (Young Lover's Reverie)
I went and stood outside myself, Then next inside myself I looked, Beyond myself again I ranged; O 'twas a charm to draw within But so it chanced, without myself The boats, the sands, the esplanade, The evening sunlit cliffs, the talk, Still, when at night I drew inside Then rose a time when, as by force, At last I said: This outside life Myself again I crept within, I sought and sought. But O her soul From an old note. [The end] GO TO TOP OF SCREEN |
